The Wagenbuur family is a very small Dutch family. At the time only 12 people use the surname Wagenbuur, that originally was a Flemish name. That original last name was spelled as "Quaeghebuer" and was transformed to Wagenbuur in the Netherlands in 1839. At this time there are still only two branches, that forked just 100 years ago with two brothers. In total there are six people with the name Wagenbuur who have no children (yet). Of those only three are unmarried men. The future of the family name Wagenbuur is endangered. Also in Belgium the surname "Quaeghebeur" has become lesser known. It doesn't exist in that spelling anymore, the most common spelling nowadays in Belgian Flanders is Quaghebeur.
